Worked example
Illustrative calculation: 10,000 followers, 450 likes, 40 comments, 30 shares and 80 saves on one post produces 600 ÷ 10,000 × 100 = 6.00%. Likes and comments alone produce 4.90%.

Enter your follower count and the likes and comments for one post. For a recent account sample, enter the number of posts and the totals across those same posts. The calculator divides total interactions by the post count before dividing by followers.
Turn on shares and saves only when you have those values. Adding an unknown metric as zero makes the formula look more complete than the evidence. A zero is valid when it is an actual measured count.
Find the right Instagram data
Follower counts, visible likes and comments can be collected from public profiles. Shares and saves generally require the creator's Insights. Use the same collection date and content sample; hidden likes and deleted comments can limit a public comparison.
For a creator-account review, use recent comparable posts and write the date range. Keep giveaways, paid promotion and unusual viral posts visible in your notes rather than treating them as typical organic performance.
Read the result in context
The result is interactions as a percentage of follower count. It is not the percentage of unique followers who engaged: non-followers and several interactions from one person can raise it above 100%.
The published Instagram reference is Socialinsider's Q2 2026 overall brand-profile average of 0.45%, using likes and comments divided by followers. Brand samples are context, not a universal target for individual influencers. Adding shares or saves disables that comparison.

Measure the real account where you publish the virtual creator. Compare content formats and creative directions using the same formula, then use the findings to plan the next scenes and captions.
A recognizable saved character can support repeatable content production. Whether people engage still depends on the content and distribution. Add measured engagement to your kit after publishing; a generated portrait itself has no audience performance.

Is this tool free without an account?
Yes. The calculations, prompt builder and document exports run in your browser without login or generation Credits.
Does the tool retrieve my social account?
No. Enter numbers from your own analytics or a public profile. The tool does not connect to Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
Where is my draft saved?
Text drafts stay in this browser for seven days and can be cleared. Uploaded media stays locally. Export a copy before switching device or clearing browser data.
Should I include shares and saves?
Include them for your own account when Insights provides them. Public-account comparisons often have only likes and comments. Do not compare the two formulas as though they were identical.
What is a good Instagram engagement rate?
There is no universal creator threshold. Account size, niche, format, period and included metrics matter. This tool labels published brand-sample references and lets you set your own target.
Why can the rate exceed 100%?
The numerator counts interactions, not unique people. Non-followers can interact, and one person can perform several actions.
